  HONOR ROLL OF CHARTER MEMBERS

THE NATIONAL WORLD WAR II MUSEUM LAUNCHES HONOR ROLL OF CHARTER MEMBERS ONLINE

After months of programming and verification, we have officially established a test version of The National World War II Museum Honor Roll of Charter Members.

Beginning Veterans Day – November 11, 2007 – members and visitors to our website can view a “beta” version of the Honor Roll.

“The decision to launch the site early has been driven by gratitude to our members,” says Museum President and CEO, Dr. Gordon “Nick” Mueller. “Their overwhelming support has made a huge impact on this Museum and we to take this opportunity to say thank you.”

Originally planned to unveil as a permanent kiosk in the Museum once our $300 million expansion project is complete, The National World War II Museum’s Honor Roll of Charter Members recognizes our members for their commitment to helping the Museum preserve the history of the most defining event of the 20th Century.

Over 170,000 members nationwide have joined the Museum since it opened on June 6, 2000. Their annual contributions support our efforts to collect the stories and artifacts of World War II that will keep history alive for generations to come.

In deciding to activate the online version years ahead of schedule, we are giving members across the country an opportunity to test the search mechanism and provide feedback. Launching the site early also ensure that all eligible take advantage of the opportunity to honor their loved ones in time to be listed on the kiosk when it is installed at the Museum in the next 12 months.

Just as important as the names of our Charter Members, though, are the men and women they have chosen to honor – buddies with whom they served, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles – all veterans or Americans who contributed to victory in World War II.

With the establishment of the Honor Roll of Charter Members, all are now permanently a part of The National World War II Museum.
